WE BAKE SUSTAINABLY.
Not only do we stand for a natural flavour experience, but we also truly love and respect nature. Therefore, we as a family business attach great importance to sustainability so that the next generations may also enjoy the region Waldviertel and its excellent products. Various already implemented measures prove our constant commitment to climate protection – and more improvements are planned. We do not only loaf quality, but sustainability as well!
PROMOTING SOIL STRUCTURE.
Together with our suppliers and their agricultural partners, we strive to promote a natural soil structure. For environment’s sake and for the best domestic grain!
GOING EASY ON RESOURCES.
By now, we already use 100% carbon-neutral green power and our own photovoltaic system generates around 30% of our electricity: 3,244 high-performance modules and a collector area of 6,891 m² ensure an output of almost 1,500 kWp of CO2-neutral solar power. In addition, all neon lights on the factory premises have been replaced by energy-saving LED lamps. We are continuously converting our vehicle fleet to hybrid or electric mobility, and several 22 kW quick charging stations are already at our employees’ and visitors’ disposal.
FOOD WITHOUT WASTE.
Thanks to our well-tried double-baking process, our customers are able to ready-bake their products on a needs-oriented basis – directly at the point of sale. Also, the goods will remain fresh for an especially long time. Together we counteract food waste effectively!
PACKAGING AND LOGISTICS.
From recycled cardboards to recyclable blank PE films – where packaging is concerned, we also do everything in our power to protect the environment. We receive flour, our most important resource, as loose goods – and various other resources are delivered in reusable big bag containers, if at all possible. It goes without saying that we use predominantly domestic resources and thus keep transport routes short.
BEES, FLOWERS AND BIOTOPE.
There is a happy buzz around our premises: our bee pasture and our insect hotel delight in many guests. Our own bees produce approximately 100 kg of refined organic flower honey. And the park, the orchard and the biotope on site are perfect rest and recreation areas enjoyed by all of our employees!
CONNECTED WITH NATURE.
The nature park Hochmoor Schrems with its “UnterWasserReich” is unique and beautiful. In order to preserve it as a public recreation area and to promote biodiversity and climate protection, the non-profit Federal Foundation COMÚN and the town of Schrems have established the “Förderkreis Hochmoor Schrems“. We are happy to support it as a local company because our nature is of special concern for us!
